Ed Jankiewicz is a recognized subject matter expert in IPv6 transition, IPv4 interoperability and Mobile IP

Most recent work in IPv6:

Senior Research Engineer, SRI International

Supporting the US Department of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in developing policies for evaluation and acquisition of IPv6 products.  Analyzing current and emerging specifications, and maintaining a set of product profiles that document the requirements that must be met for IPv6 capability and interoperability in DoD deployment.  Represent DISA at Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings and other industry events.

Collaborating with SRI subject matter experts and management team developing additional business opportunities in IPv6 and network-centric applications.

Ed recently established SixPlay, a planned emporium for humorous items promoting IPv6.

Previously served as Director of Research and Development, Datatek Applications, Inc.

Ed built a prototype of a next generation Internet adapter, translating IP Version 6 to IP Version 4, allowing interoperation of legacy computers on emerging IPv6 networks. Written in C under FreeBSD.  As the primary engineering support of sales for IPv6, Ed has conducted live demos and presentations at trade shows and customer meetings, and wrote parts of marketing literature.  He proposed and won a two-phase development contract to enhance the prototype and port it to a smaller device, leading a mixed discipline project team, which delivered 20 units for test and evaluation at US Government customer sites.   Ed has authored technical papers for publication, technical proposals, statements of work, project plans (MS Project), customer documentation and monthly status reports.  He was  the Principal Investigator for a successful Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I program to add Mobile IPv6 to the platform.  Before leaving Datatek Ed authored a winning technical proposal for a Phase II SBIR grant to continue the Mobile IPv6 work worth $730,000.  The total value of development and grant money received and committed on this work is over $1.2 million.
