PLUM RUN String Band
The PLUM RUN String Band plays acoustic American music from the 19th through the 21st centuries that is lively and engaging, and appeals to families and folks of all ages. They have a particular interest in the Civil War era and the early recorded string band music that led to bluegrass and to the traditional country music sound. Lisa Godino from Harmony NJ is featured on vocals and guitar, and also contributes original songs that honor our historic heritage. Chuck Winch, from Glen Gardner, plays banjo in a variety of bluegrass and old-time styles, and also adds fiddle, guitar and vocals. Chuck was a founding member of the Buffalo Hollow Bluegrass Band and also plays with the Dirdy Birdies Jug Band. Chuck and Lisa are members of the NJ State Humanities Council Speakers Bureau for their Civil War Songs program, and released their first CD, "No Glory Here Today," in 2001. Rounding out the group is Ed Jankiewicz of Readington on electric bass, guitar, and vocals. Ed has been singing and playing in a variety of bands, musical genres and venues for more than 30 years. Ed has recorded a collection of mostly original songs entitled "The Journey."
The bands’ repertoire covers selections from Patsy Cline, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, the Skillet Lickers, patriotic and sentimental Civil War favorites, and many more. They also appear at the Red Mill Museum Village Summer Concert Series in Clinton, as well as many other local and regional venues.
